地域社会学・農村社会学・災害研究を専門とし、フィールドワークおよび質的研究法に基づく実証的研究を行っています。近年は、居住地喪失に伴う生きがいの喪失と回復、人と土地の関係、災害リスクのもとで海と共に暮らすことについて考察しています。

研究トピックとしては、東日本大震災後の生活復興、福島原発事故と長期・広域避難、災害とケア、南海トラフ巨大地震を想定した津波防災など、災害をめぐる課題を中心に取り組んでいます。あわせて、福島原発事故後のエネルギー生産の動向、農村振興、都市農業といった環境学に関わるテーマについても研究を行っています。

理論的関心としては、地域開発における中心―周縁構造や、技術と社会の関係といった点にも関心を寄せています。

​Welcome to the official website of Miki Mochizuki’s Lab, Shizuoka University.

I specialize in regional sociology, rural sociology, and disaster studies, conducting empirical research based on fieldwork and qualitative research methods.

My recent work explores the loss and recovery of ikigai (meaning in life) following residential displacement, relationships between people and land, ways of living with places where people no longer reside, and everyday life with the sea under conditions of disaster risk.

My main research topics include post–Great East Japan Earthquake livelihood recovery, the Fukushima nuclear accident and long-term, wide-area evacuation, disasters and care, and tsunami disaster preparedness in the context of the anticipated Nankai Trough mega-earthquake. I also conduct research on environmental studies–related topics such as post-Fukushima trends in energy production, rural revitalization, and urban agriculture.

From a theoretical perspective, I am interested in center–periphery structures in regional development, as well as the relationships between technology and society.
